Classes & Levels

From Pre-Ballet to Professional Training

We provide inspiring and motivating classes with certified instructors to dancers 3yrs to Adults.

Royal Academy of Dance

RAD offers a structured and progressive ballet syllabus that emphasizes technical skill, musicality, and a holistic approach to development. Benefits include building confidence through a proven, safe, and enjoyable learning experience, high standards of safeguarding, and globally recognized qualifications. RAD classes help children develop physical strength, coordination, posture, and discipline while also fostering creativity and a love for dance.

3yrs+ Pre-Ballet - 1 hour/week

5yrs+ Primary - 1 hour/week

6yrs+ Grade 1 - 2 hours/week

7yrs+ Grade 2 - 2 hours/week

8yrs+ Grade 3 - 3 hours/week

All ages are approximate and final placement is at the discretion of the instructors and director. Royal Academy of Dance examinations are encouraged but are not mandatory. Examinations incur an additional fee at each level, and specific availability for scheduling. More details will be communicated throughout the season.

Professional Training

These levels are dedicated programs for aspiring professional dancers. Their schedules include intense training hours, some of which are early afternoon in collaboration with local elementary schools and online secondary school options.

Junior (9yrs+) 5 hours/week

Early hours starting at 1:30pm

Intermediate (11yrs+) 7 hours/week

Early hours starting at 1pm

 

Advanced (13yrs+) 9-18 hours/week

After school hours

Dancers will have the possibility to enter for Royal Academy of Dance Vocational level examinations which are recognized by the B.C. Ministry of Education, as well as additional festival and performance opportunities.

Pilates

We now offer Private Lessons or Semi-Private shared sessions with certified Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor Cassandra Lai. Email us for availability and scheduling!

ADULT BALLET

 

Discover the ballet basics. Stay fit while feeling good and having fun! Our adult ballet classes blend RAD syllabi with open ballet class for the perfect balance of learning. Beginners are welcome, and stay tuned for additional classes and levels coming in 2026...

Financial Assistance

We are passionate about making dance available to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.

Learn about our non-profit, Waldorf Ballet Foundation, making bursaries and scholarships available to ballet dancers of the Sunshine Coast. We are also already pre-approved by the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program that offers individual child grants every season to dancers and families in need.
